Royal Artist 'C' Soprano Saxophone
This instrument dates from about 1922 and was made by Buescher for the C. Bruno Co. with the Royal Artist name, so it has that sweet Buescher sound. It is in the key of C and a low pitch instrument. It has been meticulously restored. It was nearly completely black when it first came into the shop (see picture below).
This particular instrument belonged to Toots Mondello, saxophonist for the Benny Goodman Orchestra, as well as other groups of the era. The current owner, who was a good friend of Toots, has decided to put it up for sale, and will provide ample evidence to show original ownership by Mr. Mondello, upon serious inquiry only.
